15 Heat Transfer terms

This glossary is to identify words that I don't know their meaning and to associate myself more deeply with the topics.

Boundary conditions
phrase
Flow (flow rate) or pressure states assigned to theoretical boundaries used in developing and solving differential equations that are applied to well testing and in specifying a model that matches pressure transient data.
es: Condiciones de borde
Emissivity
Phrase
It is the measurement of an object's ability to emit infrared energy.
Example: Fluke Process Instruments sensors have the adjustable emissivity feature to ensure accuracy when measuring other materials such as shiny metals.
es: Emisividad
energy balance
conjunction
Set of equilibrium relations that quantifies the fluids of the process of production, exchange, transformation and final consumption of energy.
Example: Maximum heat recovery: energy optimization of the process. Heating or cooling a fluid.
es: Balance de Energía
you see the different energy on the two sides
Heat conduction equation
conjunction
A partial differential equation describing the distribution of heat (or the temperature field) in a given body over time.
es: Ecuación de conducción de calor
Heat flux
phrase
es: flujo de calor
heat generation
it resembles a standard thermal power station with one exception.
Example: a nuclear reactor
es: Generación de calor
Insulation
It is the set of materials and installation techniques that are applied in the construction elements that separate a heated space from the outside or from other spaces to reduce the transmission of heat between them.
Example: Building insulation to minimize heat losses in winter and gains in summer.
es: Aislamiento
Internal energy
Phrase
It is defined as the energy associated with the random and disorderly motion of molecules.
Example: A glass of water at room temperature on a table has no apparent energy, either potential or kinetic. But on a microscopic scale, it's a hotbed of high-speed molecules traveling at hundreds of meters per second.
es: Energía Interna
specified temperature
es: temperatura especificada
Surrounding
adjective
all around a particular place or thing.
es: Circudante
temperature coefficient
adverb
Is a property, which does not depend on the amount of substance or size, of materials that quantifies the relationship between the alteration of this property of a material and the temperature variety.
es: Coeficiente de la temperatura
thermal conductivity
phrase
It refers to the intrinsic ability of a material to transfer or conduct heat. It is one of the three methods of heat transfer.
Example: 1.- The steel. With a conductivity of 47 to 58 W / (K.m). 2.- Water. With a conductivity of 0.58 W / (K.m).
es: conductividad térmica
Thermal diffusivity
phrase
It is a specific property of each material to characterize heat conduction in non-stationary conditions.
Example: This value describes how quickly a material reacts to a change in temperature.
es: Difusividad térmica
thermal energy
phrase
Energy that is manifested by an increase in temperature and comes from the transformation of other energies.
Example: Boiling water in a turkey.
es: Calor
Thermal symmetry
phrase
condition corresponds to the perfectly insulated surface
Example: can be used to solve heat transfer problems involving fuel rods
es: Simetría térmica
